1. Data Compliance & Cross-Border Processing
Claimlink Information Technology Services operates in strict compliance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173). By creating an account or using our tags, you explicitly consent to the collection, cross-border transfer, and processing of your data as detailed below.
2. What We Collect and Why
Owner Data: To operate your tag’s contact page and account dashboard, we store your username, item names, and your chosen finder notes. You may optionally choose to provide an email address. If provided, your email address is used strictly for sending notification alerts when finders scan your items and for password recovery. Registering an email is entirely optional.
Finder Notes: We store the contents of text notes left by finders so they can be displayed in your private owner inbox. We do not prompt for or require finder contact details.
3. Email Dispatch & Third-Party Processing (Brevo)
If you register an optional email address, transactional email services (such as password recovery links and instant finder message alerts) are processed securely using Brevo. Your email address is processed solely for sending essential account notifications and is never published publicly or sold for marketing purposes.
4. United States Infrastructure Disclosure
Our primary server infrastructure, data buckets, and off-site encrypted backups are hosted in the United States. Your data will be securely stored on these servers. Our infrastructure vendors process data strictly to host our service and hold no independent rights to use your information.
5. Data Retention & Right to Erasure (RA 10173)
In accordance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), you maintain full control and the absolute Right to Erasure over your personal data. We provide instant self-service data management directly inside your dashboard:
- Single Tag Deletion: You can delete any individual claimed tag from your dashboard at any time. Deleting a tag immediately unlinks it from your account, purges its custom item name and finder notes, and permanently erases all associated finder messages.
- Complete Account Erasure: You can click Delete Account in your dashboard to immediately and permanently delete your entire account, all associated claimed tags, registered email, password hashes, and message history from our database.
Additionally, tags inactive for 3 consecutive years with no logins or scans may be automatically archived and purged.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We use essential cookies and browser local storage solely to keep you logged into your dashboard and to secure your session. These files do not track your browsing habits across the internet or harvest your data for marketing. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from logging into your Claimlink account.
